B.R.Shetty , business tycoon , is the founder of New Pharmacy LLC , the largest in the UAE. Born in Udupi, Karnataka in 1942, he graduated in Pharmacology from the Manipal Medical College in Karnataka.Medical units , which are playing a major role in the private medical  sector of UAE, are run by him. Most of the hospitals owned by Shetty got advanced diagnostic procedures and well equipped facilities  to deal with some 2000 patients a day. 

Shetty's business is not just confined to healthcare and pharmaceuticals, but it is quite diversified.Apart from the medical services aspect of his business, he has vast holding in banking and financial services, with exchanges in the UAE and Bangalore. He diversified his trade even in jewelry, gold with wholesale and retail outlets in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Even in Electronics he has spread his trade.

Shetty produces pharmaceuticals, tin cans, diapers and bottled LPG in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. He even hold the agency for Mercedes Benz automobiles distribution for the state of Karnataka. He even has foray into the real estate and he has set up a public relations company to deal with advertising and publicity.

His taste of variety is evident in the fact that his business interests include a restaurant that caters to tourists and locals alike. His restaurant Foodlands was highly commended by the US armed forces. It was awarded a Certificate of Merit.

With his commercial attainments he has never forgotten his duty towards society for its upliftment. He has always been in frontrunner for doing good to the society. B.R.Shetty is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Abu Dhabi Indian School.  The School is the biggest in the UAE. He is ardent follower of Cricket. He is one of the frontrunners for the development of Cricket in the Emirates. He serves on the board of Emirates Cricket Board, the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council & Abu Dhabi Cricket Club.

In his pursuit of serving the society through promotion of Education, Shetty is founder member and vice chairman of the Business & Social Activities Committee of the Indian Business & Professional Group former for promoting the interests of Indian Community. He is also member of American Business Group as also of the British Business Group in the UAE.
