Karnataka Fisheries planned fish markets opposed:

Mangalore, November 10: Fishermen have opposed for the proposed fish market of Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation. Fishermen leader Sathish Bykampady told here in a press conference that demonstration will be held in front of Urva market on November 12 at 10am.

He added that, by opening fish market in Urva-Chilimbi, around 200 women fish sellers of Urva store, Urva market, Bejai market and adjoining areas will counter the fear of loosing their jobs.

KFDC has planned to open more than 25 fish markets in places like Surathkal, Mulki, Kinnigoli.

Various unions have given their support for the protest. Appeal will be handed over to the DC, District SP, Ministers and Mayor on Nov 11.
